Glitter is notoriously difficult to manage. Traditional brushes often cause “fallout”¡ªthe glitter particles drop onto the cheeks instead of sticking to the lid. Factories solve this through specialized “Adhesion-Focused” engineering.
“Sticky-Fiber” Technology
Factories have developed a specific type of synthetic fiber known as Treated PBT. During the extrusion process, the fiber is coated with a microscopic layer that increases its “surface tension.” This allows the brush to “grab” dry glitter particles and hold them securely until they are pressed onto the eyelid.
The Silicone Tipped Applicator
The most effective tool for “Chunky” glitter isn’t a brush at all, but a Silicone Tipped Applicator.
The Design: These are often shaped like a small “hoof” or a flat “paddle.”
The Physics: Because silicone is slightly “tacky,” it picks up glitter via suction and static. When the user presses the silicone against the lid, the pressure creates a vacuum release, “estampado” the glitter onto the skin without any lateral movement that would cause fallout.
Density and Ferrule Pressure
For brushes used with glitter, factories use a Flat-Crimp Ferrule. By flattening the metal neck of the brush, the bristles are packed into a tight, thin “wall.” This stiffness allows the user to “pack” the glitter onto the lid with a tapping motion rather than a sweeping one.
